

Vexcel‘s OrthoSAR™ Level 2 processor is a high-performance and high-throughput Ortho-rectification SAR processor for ALOS-PALSAR, ENVISAT-ASAR, Radarsat, ERS1/2 and JERS1.
The OrthoSAR™ processor has been deployed at ERSDAC, Japan for producing image products from the ALOS-PALSAR sensor.
As a disk-to-disk processor, OrthoSAR™ imports the space agency standard Level 1 formats and produces the standard Level 2 formats. OrthoSAR™ also ingests imagery generated by Focus™ and Swath™ from the Scatter™ Phase history simulator, including strip map, spotlights and ScanSAR modes.
OrthoSAR™ produces systematic geo-coded L2A imagery in a variety of projections without operator intervention. The user collects GCPs using the integrated view++ image viewer to further improve the geolocation accuracy of the output imagery.
If a DEM is available, OrthoSAR™ performs terrain correction to remove terrain-induced distortion from the output L2B image. OrthoSAR™ efficiently uses multiple hardware CPUs resulting in superior processing performance without sacrificing the outstanding image quality of the produced Level 2 SAR imagery.
A user-friendly GUI allows for quick production of standard products while still providing full control over all ortho processing parameters. An integrated batch processor facilitates the handling of large volume processing jobs.
OrthoSAR™ is a part of Vexcel’s Apex™ software suite and seamlessly integrates with Vexcel’s Focus™ Level 1 processor and Swath™ Scansar processor.
