Leveraging Microsoft’s rapid build-out of 3D, photo-textured building models in cities worldwide, Vexcel offers custom imagery acquisition and processing services that extend the powerful online mapping and search capabilities of Microsoft’s Virtual Earth™ platform, particularly for government customers at the federal, state and local levels.
Vexcel’s Custom Collects service allows customers to select specific areas within a state, city, or federal facility for inclusion in Virtual Earth™, with 3D content delivered through the internet or an enterprise intranet at unprecedented levels of detail.
Customers have a great deal of flexibility in designing their Custom Collect. They choose the areas within a city, county or state for high resolution Virtual Earth™ content, and they may select which buildings or other infrastructure to make available within Virtual Earth™ on the internet and which to reserve for higher resolution display on a private/secure network. They may also choose the level of detail to be included in particular 3D models with complex geometries, such as overhangs, archways or rotundas, possibly reserving the highest levels of detail for their private or secure network.
Vexcel’s Custom Collects service is a powerful way to customize Virtual Earth™ to address needs for homeland security, situational awareness, crisis management or emergency response.
